Description

1986, Iran, 120 min.

During the Iran–Iraq War, young Bashu loses his family in an air raid on his village in southern Iran. Hiding in the back of a truck, he is taken north around the Caspian Sea, where he jumps off. The people in this unfamiliar land dislike the little stranger, mocking his skin colour and accent. Nai, a woman whose husband is away, finds the boy and accepts him as her own son. As they gradually build a family, their bond transcends language, culture, and ethnic divisions
